These lights were simple to set up and direct at the parts of the garden we wanted illuminated. Having the solar panel on a long cable was useful in being able to hide the lamp while still leaving the panel in full sunlight.The effect at nighttime is good so long as the area being lit is fairly free of other light pollution. As my photos show, the white, green and blue colours show up well, although the red colours are distinctly softer than others, to the point I could not get a good photo. The other thing to note is the light does not throw much distance and so the lamps need to be placed quite close to the thing or area you plan to illuminate.Its hard to judge longevity as these are brand new lights, but in my experience most solar lamps only last a couple of seasons in UK weather probably because of the damp winters, or the cold impacting the batterys ability to hold a charge. I shall be taking these indoors in October and plan to bring them out again in early spring. We shall see then how they have fared over the winter.Overall a good buy if you want to add a little colour to an otherwise dark space.

Dont waste your money on this product Mr. Beams MB 980 BatteryOperated IndoorOutdoor MotionSensing LED Ceiling Light. I bought this product because of the 2 important features advertised. Motion detection range 20 to 25 feet Light sensor control to conserve battery life during the day this means light should only turn on when its darkWell both of these features failed.I placed 4 new fully charged 4C NiMH batteries in it, then I placed this unit on the ceiling of my hallway which is about 810ft high, im really disappointed because this motion sensor only detects movement around 48ft distance which is far from the advertised distance of 2025ft. so i have to pass under it in order to activate the light which is useless. The light sensor doesnt work, this product activateslights up even when theres another light turned on.

At first, I was disappointed to see that this only has one LED, compared to other products that advertise several. However, it manages to do an amazing job of lighting up a closet that has no builtin ceiling fixture.

Soso, there are better options at better prices, such as the Oxy brand. Casts a round beam, not perfect for overhead in a closet, but does ok. Overpriced.

I put one of these in a closet that didnt have any lighting. It works great and we never had an issues with the battery running low. It doesnt produce a lot of light, I wouldnt use it to light a room or other large space.

I really like this light. I bought it to put in our bathroom to have a softer light that would automatically turn onoff night. This fits the bill nicely.A few things to note From reading the other reviews, I expected it to only come on in complete darkness, but that hasnt been the case for me. It definitely turns on even when there is a little ambient light. There is text on the side that shows how to turn it to remove it from the base to replace the batteries. Its really large and is noticeable. I wish it were smaller and blended in better. The output of the light is a little brighter than what I was wanting. It would be ideal if it had a switch for two settings or maybe a dimmer switch.

Our house was built with no light in the pantry. We had installed another type of battery light that required a battery powered wall mount to activate them wirelessly. Worked great except noone ever turned the lights back off, so the batteries were always dead. So, on to thei light. Requires 4 C cells, so should last a long time. Mounted it, and presto. We open the door to the pantry light sees motion, and lights on. After closing the door, the light is quickly off. It sends out plenty of light. I love it. Probably the best thing I have bought this yearI love it.
