Very limited space inside the fitting for connections, so could be tricky to fit over a replacement ceiling rose if the cables are on a standard lighting ring connected in the existing rose ie loads of wires. In my case, I took all existing cables up into the loft and joined them in a junction box, then just led a single 1.5 mm twin and earth out through the ceiling into this fitting. This would be the job of a very competent DIYer or electrician.The light itself is excellent. Nice warm white, very low power and used on the landing, I can leave it on all evening or night if I need to without worrying about the running cost.LED lamps are permanently fixed, so no changing them, but projected life of LED is long, so doesnt worry me.
