Excellent light, as ever, and speedy service with great well packed delivery. Am slightly less thrilled with the new, glowing onoff floor button too reminiscent of hotel rooms and meaning I have to get out of bed to turn it off…..the button otherwise glows like a UFO in the night

Ive been forced to give a rating in order to submit this feedback, but it doesnt reflect the situation because there isnt a category for disappointed. Theres nothing wrong the lamp its well made, its good that its British made, I like the design and it works but the only thing that feels truly special or different about it is the price. As I now have it in the house and its ok, Ill keep it but I wouldnt get another or recommend it because the light seems no better than lamps Ive bought for FAR less money. I had expected the light to be much brighter and the dimmer to go from brighttodim instead it starts at an ok level and the dimmer takes it to verydimindeed. Ive received your publicity for years and have never quite felt I understood whats special enough to warrant the big price tag… Curiosity made me take the plunge, but now I finally own one Im not much the wiser. Sorry not to be more positive lots of people clearly feel differently.

The build quality on the lamp is really good. I love the flat base, which is stable enough, but tucks away under a sofa or armchair and is low enough to the ground for a robot vacuum cleaner to trundle over. The lamp has a momentary switch on the lamp housing, which has a very nice sturdy feel, but I think it probably means the lamp cant be controlled by a voice operated smart speaker like Alexa or Google Home. The light cast by the lamp is intense, but also rather cold looking. Its perfect for reading, but not so good as general illumination. Although it does light up an area of the room, it is a spotlight. Obviously you buy the lamp as a spotlight for reading, so its no great surprise. I have absolutely no complaints about the lamp. I think it is great. My only regret is not opting for the purple light technology which I decided to forgo.
