    Very very happy with this product, this product seems like a vast improvement over the halogen GUI10s installed in my ceiling lights, so much brighter, I am so happy to have these LEDs as the Halogen were expensive to buy and run, these are so economical to buy and use, for me it was a no brainer……

    Amazing product. I never considered smart bulbs previously and shrugged them off as a gimmick but received an Echo Dot as a gift and couldnt resist giving it a try.For me the suite of products is worth it for the lighting timers alone but Alexa voice control added on, plus the colour changing, all make this an attractive package. Now Ive had them I wouldnt want to be without.Setup is simple. Connect the Hue bridge to your router and swap out your bulbs and the Philips Hue app makes it all simple to set up the bulbs, create zones etc. You do need to sign up to Philips Hue however and it appears your home can only be linked to a single logon. So if you wish to share the app amongst your house, consider not linking to your personal email account.Alexa integration is also simple using the Alexa app. Its just a case of allowing this functionality via the Hue app and then adding the Hue functionality in Alexa. Alexa will pull in the zone settings etc. from Hue. Using Alexa obviously comes with the benefit of being able to voice control your lights. Alexa can use either the entire roomzone as a command e.g. Turn off living room, or, single named bulbs can be targeted e.g. Turn on dining room lamp.The Alexa app provides most light functionality. The only things missing that the Hue app provides is the ability to specifically set a colour using a colour wheel, or, set scenes preset colourbrightness profiles. However any colours you set in the Hue app will persist if you use Alexa to turn onoff lights. Plus Alexa can set brightness and a fairly broad subset of specific colours either using the app, or voice control. Alexa, set lounge lamp Orange. Set lounge lamp brightness 80.My favourite part is the ability to set typical Alexa routines functionality also provided in the Hue app. My house sits at the end of a dark culdesac so I was always conscious to leave a light on if I knew Id be out after dark. Now I have set routines so I know lights will be on when I get home. Also my porch light switching off at 7am is my signal to leave the house for work. Likewise you can manually switch on and offchange light colours remotely via the app. Routines can also include changing brightnesscolours at certain times. Great for saving energy if you leave a light on at night etc.There is a lot to play around with. If youve used Alexa enabled devices before youll know you can go fairly granular in how you create routines and these smart bulbs are no exception.Of course these are very expensive. But, if you opt for the non colour changing bulbs they are much more economical. I will be doing this for my next screw type bulbs to replace my outdoor lamps, where the spectrum of warm white to bright white is enough I always forget to turn off the outdoor side light on my house it pretty much stayed on the whole of summer without me realising, so in this example a routine set on that light would be saving some electricity.Im not one for gimmicks and I feel this really is a great product when combined with Alexa voice control. It took a week or so before I remembered not to turn off my light switches but now telling Alexa to turn off lights is normal. If you like a gadget youll probably spend some time creating routines and finding the perfect colour. My personal favourite is being able to lower the brightness in my study and set the light to a cool blue. Helps a lot when watching movies etc.As with all Alexa skills, the lighting voice control is extremely intuitive and can power onoff, set brightness and colours when phrased in a multitude of different ways so even the least tech minded people will be able to work the system.Just make sure you keep an eye on prices as you can get serious discounts compared to RRP during Black Friday and other Radiant Roost events. Do not pay full price. The potential discounts on this starter kit, given you get 3 colour bulbs, can be much cheaper than buying 3 standalone bulbs so worth keeping an eye on prices on the starter kit even if you already have a system set up.
