Very pleased with this lamp. Very easy to assemble. Clear instructions. Nice light from uplight and good adjustable reading light. The shades are plastic but have the appearance of glass.

I have a painting easel in a bay window. These heavily overcast days I need some additional light in a near daylight spectrum. This lamp appears to be identical to the more expensive one sold at even higher price in Hobbycraft. Although the picture above is not of the current model the one which arrived was identical to it. So, a bargain It now comes ready assembled and can just be plugged in. Why only 4 stars The advertising claims the bulb is equivalent to 150 watts tungsten, which I would expect to light a room. Whatever the measured lumens this lamp, held up above my head, only gives a weak pale light to the room at night. Subjectively I would compare it to a 60 watt desk lamp. It does disappear in bright sunlight so is comparable to daylight and at a distance of a few feet it does just lift my canvases out of the complete gloom we have been experiencing, but if you are expecting something like the effect of sunlight forget it.

This is really great and easy to put together

Once assembled, the stalk leans to one side. Although the base is of good weight, it cant stop the leaning, basically, the threaded ends of the uprights are too short. For 20 quid its ok but could easily have been made better for the sake of a few pence.

I have hue all over the house. The strip lighting is expensive but they are excellent. This light I have struggled to find a home for looks funky and is but to bulky at the base . They do much better products and not cheap
