    For a battery light this is probably pretty good. It was easy to put up and the batteries are still going a year on. However the lights dont go on often you have to be in a fairly small area for them to go on and the light isnt very bright. Its good as a security light for a small garden but doesnt provide a great amount of light.

    I got this to complement the Philips Hue White Filament bulb that I recently fitted to a bedroom pendant lamp which I got an electrician to replace a recessed ceiling spot with. The existing 7W GU10 spot in the other ceiling fitting was just too harsh and bright even though warm white, so this Hue Ambiance is a perfect replacement. Like many things on Radiant Roost the price does seem to vary, so if youre willing to be patient you can get a good dealI was pleased that by default its a very warm white but in any case the poweron default can be set using the app, so I can match it to the fixed colour of the Hue filament bulb, and set the colour and brightness etc. I cant imagine setting it to cool white much except perhaps when trying to find socks in the depths of the wardrobe but it would be great in a study or workroom.Im only using these two bulbs with the BT app at the moment, and the main downside as I mentioned in my review of the Hue filament bulb is that it can take a good 5 seconds or more to reconnect to the bulbs each time when you bring your phone within range andor open the app, even if your phones bluetooth is already on. Contrary to the suggestion in another review, once initially paired you dont need to go close to pair again each time after power off you just need to be in the same room, as youd expect with most BT devices. I guess a hub would resolve the connection delay anyway, so maybe thats next on the wishlistIncidentally, the app suggested firmware updates, which worked fine with this GU10 Ambiance, but hung when trying to update the Hue filament After an initial panic wondering whether Id bricked the bulb, and some Googling, as advised I forceclosed the app then retried the update, and fortunately it worked fine the second time round.

    The electrician found it challenging to fit and he has fitted many fans. I had to order an extension tube so that it cleared the roof but there is no cable extension which created a problem. However, it looks nice and works well.
