Purchased back in June and used it for once or twice. Probably will stay in my storage forever. Doesnt stand still and light head part is not holding itself so i had to use shipping tape around joint area. I got what i paid for.

Its sold as a selfielight and can be easily clipped onto your phone to pointing forwards and enhance the builtin flash, or facing forwards can light the subject if your phone doesnt have a rear flash.The light requires 2 x AAA batteries that are not supplied and has a simple pushbutton control that is used to select three lighting levels for the ring of 36 LEDs.The design incorporates a spring clip that will easily attach to a phone up to 1 cm thick. When used to illuminate selfie pictures it works quite well at the brightest setting.Its not something that youll use all the time and is a little bulky at 8.5 cm diameter and 2.5 cm thick, so youve the problem of having to hand when you need it. A more compact unit with fewer brighter LEDs would probably be better as it could slip into a pocket, but it does provide potentially useful extra light.Potential additional use.I was intrigued by the design why have a ring of LEDsI have a similar ring flash for my SLR camera. Its used for taking macro closeup pictures where inevitably as the camera gets very close to the subject it casts a shadow on the subject. Using a ring light, you can direct light onto the macro subject from all directions and illuminate it even when very close to it. I didnt have a macro lens to hand that will fit my phone, so I just used the phone camera to test whether the light helped. In the pictures of the coins, you can see that using the ring light helps remove the harsh shadows created by the phone flash. Its a subtle difference but it is there.If youre keen on exploring this with macro lenses suited for use with a phone, look out for lens sets that are attached magnetically to the phone, rather than those that use clip brackets, as the ring light will make fitting difficult or impossible.So an interesting light that seems to have been designed at least in part for macro closeup photography. If you carry it with you it may enhance selfie style pictures and if youre into experimenting with macro photography with your phone, you might find this light very useful.
