Very realistic. The flickering light is lovely to watch but they dont seem to stay lit for long even on a full charge.

Bought 4 packs of 4 for our garden. Look very nice. I should have bought them 6 weeks later. Today they are 24.99I could have saved myself 30.00. Not a nice feeling.

Theyre OK but not enough LEDs to make them look like a convincing flame. If I could buy again Id go for torches that say 96 LEDs as these dont have enough. Quality is average.Update Have since bought some 96 LED versions and they are much better. Really good flame effects and much brighter. These also seem to die much faster than my new ones too which is disappointing.

First impression was quite positive. The construction seems solid with a water proofed onoff switch and smart steel surround. The ground spikes are in two parts forming a pointed cross and just push on to the light so are easy to remove to repack if needed. Its a little early in the year for evenings in the garden so these have really only had a test run. They seem to have a decent run time for a summer evening and as we intend to muse them in the grass we probably will just lay them down without the spikes which makes them easier to pick up for mowing. Randomly spread over a bank on our hill side lawn they do look quite good.

My 4 pack arrived as might yours in need of a charge, the 600mAh NiMh battery not liion as per instruction sheet were 8090 fully discharged upon arrival, so they went straight onto the charger its October, the sun in the uk has effectively disappeared till april so despite me planning to place these nigh on due south with a good unimpeded no shadow aspect they will need periodic charging relying on mains power, especially as these are designed to be on at night, small battery winter struggles ahead ..so the first thing I do is typically replace them with a 2600mAh rechargeable so these have around 4 x the capacity to use in good months absorb more solar energy.Second thing I did, was get some class c aluminium tape I had laying around improve the reflectivity of the leds ..the plastic moulding is black, black absorbs light, silver sticky foil cut to size I used a loo roll inner cut it to size based on the rear of one lights moulding ..popped the silver sticky foil in voila ..more light output ..consider it before you screw them into final position in your garden etc.The result really adds to the appearance of the overall light output, focusing the light probably gives it another 50 of focus ..why hasnt the unit been specced for this ..their loss is also your loss by resultOK, so the actual productIm quite happy as first impressions go where this set is concerned .. I play with a lot of solar, novelty through to proper panels. If the batteries were proper Id be even happier. The circuitry is simple, elevated away from any water which may condense over time good. The front lense cover is both decorative to a slight degree may enhance the output of the LEDs by means of its convex nature debatableThe front cover lens is easy to pop on off when maintainence is required, it seems to effect a fairly good seal though I note there is no actual weatherproofing so am cautious as to this set surviving the weather ingood working order long term, Ill add a dab of grease to enhanceweatherproofing along the join between the main body of the unit the lens to give it a better chance. also spraying the metal battery contacts allowing them to dry prior to first proper use.Output per unit at full strength ie fresh battery displaying proper voltage prior to drop off is likely to be as per manufacturers claim of 50 Lumens per panel light ..thing is the voltage on a AA battery soon drops off these arent big batteries to start with, though 600mAh nimh has been the rubbish standard for making for a really bad image for solar needlessly.Light output is decorative mainly , if you really needed to you could read a book close up to the unit, but really these are marker lights to push back the gloom no more than that. Theyll struggle in winter unless topped up occasionally by a proper indoors charge, but come late spring thru to early autumn should easily light regularly if placed in a shadow free high solar gain south facing aspectSmall package, with potential, costing the equivalent of 4.14 per light at time of purchase rrp ..ill be honest, these will be going outside after Halloween, they are small enough to illuminate a basic pumpkin for Halloween we carve a lot.My 2 big concerns are That these dont have enough forward leaning angle within the moulding for the small solar panel to make the most of lower angles of sun in reduced winter sun what sun ..so when mounted Ill be adjusting the angle from behind with a small wedge of cardboard sliver of wood or plastic so they get more sun wherever they sit, this could should be accounted for at the point of design manufacture. The lack of ease in removing resiting the units, Ive seen smaller screws hold bigger items, the weight of each unit is trifling compared to the screws supplied which do need to be driven home, or shorter screws sourced because they are so close to the leds will cause problems with the light throw otherwise, thankfully the individual batteries are easy to remove, take in charge up, if the front lens survives being removed frequently.Ive seen played around with far worse, just that there are so many generic designs in china there are very few specialists who actually know how to make an item that looks like all the others better than all the others …i.e. theyre a bulk buyer of product where they think they can turn a profit,.. not solar specialists, that much is obviousIm giving it 4 stars for now, all is looking good, seems to be performing well straight out of the box ..with a view to long term appraisal, I anticipate needing to check it through the winter spring at the very least..so will edit update when it has proven itself or otherwise.Might be nice to finally get a number for the house place this just above in order to illuminate it they have the potential to highlight things such as that, in close proximityit would help winter deliveries by Radiant Roost drivers Plenty of photos see the end one with 2 lit units side by side, the brighter one has had the aluminium tape foil added, spot it in the various photos youll see just why I did that, ..also note the loo roll inner used as a size guide when cutting,..all low tech easy to do to improve this unitWhilst not required, nor expected to leave a review I believe in openness Integrity disclosure We were sent the Tompop solar marker lights x4 by the distributor gratis free Im NOT obliged to leave a reviewI write reviews regardless pride myself in providing a non biased review when I do feel so inclined,.. I hope you agree we actually assess scrutinise an item compared to bedazzled by the discount freebie reviews left by some others ..it is not our intention to sell a product to you, merely to let you know what we found out, thereafter its up to you to take or leave what we have opined. All views star ratings are prone to change over time if we feel the need to question a product based on form, function, price point, longevity , customer service etc. Thanks for taking time to read through, we hope it has served some use to you., ..constructive criticism welcome in comments , I could simply take the cheap stuff run, as many do ..but we dontGus family
