Ive tried a few bulky options to light myself better during a Zoom meeting and always came up disappointed. I was too white, shiny, and blary eyed as a result of ineffective attempts using lamps. Then I took a chance on this light product based on others positive reviews. Im glad I did. I just purchased a second one for my spouse. It creates a warm light creating softness effect. I also dont get headaches from a light thats too bright Mega plus This is a soft light that is easily adjustable in wattage. Its perfect.

These are much smaller than you expect which is a good thing. The magnet was so strong that I was able to put it on the wall by just moving it around until it found bit of metal behind the plasterboard The motion detection is very quick, practically instant, which is what I needed. I had been using generic smart life motion sensors with IFTTT to turn on Hue bulbs but it was just too slow. The default rules in the Hue app are fairly complete. You can have it turn on lightsscenes etc during two time periods and select how bright the room should be to activate and how sensitive the motion sensor should be. Its a simple IF MOTION TURN ON or IF NO MOTION TURN OFF. What you cant do are rules like ignore motion if the light has been manually set or ignore motion if the light is already on. So, for example, I have a rule which turns on an office light on low if you walk in, but if I then want it on high for a while, the motion sensor overrides this and puts it back to dim mode after a few minutes. If you always want a room in the same lighting conditions, then it would be absolutely perfect. There is a Hue Labs feature called Three Times a Charm which allows you to configure 3 time zones for the motion detection, which is better and if you use the iConnectHue or Eve iOS apps you can add a little more control but I find using those can get a little confusing what youve set where.Additionally in the Apple Homekit app, this adds a temp sensor and a LUX light sensor but these cannot be used as automation triggers unfortunately, they are just there for information by the looks of it.As long as you understand the limitations of the rules then its a nice addition to the Hue ecosystem.
