Well packaged.It came with instructions, now, when I say instructions, I mean it came with a sheet of paper that had a drawing of some directions on how to assemble the metal casingstructure of the lamp 8 armsWe are NOT electricians The wiring instructions consisted of what wire was liveneutral but no actual wiringup information.We asked a few questions on here to no real solution although some people were helpful and prompt enough BUT we turned to the magic that is YouTube.That didnt help much either so we scoured the net a bit.Anyway, heres what we doneWe got all the blue wires, took off the wire tops and held them altogether, get them so they are all at the same length and then electrical tape the bunch together to hold on place you feel like a bomb disposal expert at this stageThen using long nose pliers we twisted the bare wire around and around each other to make one big wire Mission Impossible theme tune in my head we done the same with the other wires but the yellowgreen wire is on its own, then screwed them into the designated hole in the small black plate supplied it says on it N, L and has a wee hieroglyph symbol for earthTurn the power off.Go to your ceiling lampfitting ours was a standard basic lamp fitting, 1950s UK home we took off the casing, unwired it then matched up the wires to the coordinating wires in the lamp housingplate. Check online what your wires are, some older wiring has different coloured wires for liveneutralearth to modern fixturesAll in all, the instructions could have been better for the wiring but looking back, was easy enough.Constructing the lamp is just screwing and bolting, follow the guide.You will need two folk to hang this from the ceiling one to hold it in place, the other to wire and screw. If you can do this solo then WOW.I only had one bulb to test this but it worked fine, no one got an electric shock and the power didnt cut out.The lamp we bought takes the larger Ikea screwin bulbs.Allinall please with the result, looks very cool, might get some Edison bulbs
