To use these Sensors you will need to have the Philips Hue Bridge The Echo Plus can be used as a bridge for the lights but not for the Hue Sensors. If you are like me were enticed to buy smart bulbs because they can be voice activated and you can change the mood of a room in a couple of clicks, you may be finding your new lights a bit of a faff to turn on and off. This could be your answer. These sensors only turn your lights on when they sense movement and when there is not enough daylight. You can choose to set a time for how long the light stays on after its been activated and depending on the time of day, choose if you want the lights to be dimmer or brighter i.e at night your lights can be dimmed as you fumble your way to the bathroom. These also work with some other smart lights, but you will still need the Philips hub. They are easy to install and can either placed on top of a shelf or attached to a wall.Annoying bit If you have set a scene and it detects motion, it defaults to a bright white light. Your scene is then lost and you have to start from scratch. To get around this you can turn the sensor off via the app.Ive also found the IFTT app If this then that does not currently recognise Hue products as a trigger. If you want to use the sensor to activate anything other than a bulb you may therefore struggle.Ive also found that when you install these, you should do it via the Hue app 1st Not Alexa. If you do it any other way, the Hue bridge cant find it and you have to reset the sensor via a pinhole and then install via the Hue app.Handy tip The motion sensor also measures temperature. You can use it to set alerting scenes when your babys room exceeds or falls below certain thresholds. The technology isnt cheap, but if you already own the hue bulbs I would highly recommend using these.Hope this review is of help.
