    The item arrived the day after the order was placed . It seems well made and sturdy . I have very heavy glass and metal light shade. The original fitting was over 50 years old and very worn.This new fitting was a doddle to fit and a few hefty tugs later convinced me it was solid.And all for such a keen price.I cant find anything negative to say about it.Pity really . I do love a rant. But it has been denied me in this instance .

    I love the lamp and the person it was a gift for does also. Came with a few minor scratches on the vanes and two of them were slightly bent, possibly due to the shipping box which was made with the front side down. Odd way to package a lamp however I believe that it is because the lamp unit is top heavy. Reasons why I didnt give a five star were two fold.First the screws to tighten the legs after adjusting the height did not have any washers to protect the wood or lock the screws in place. Such a small price to pay for those important parts and in my opinion a very serious oversight if this top heavy lamp is intended for a home with small children andor lively pets. I can easily see the leg screws slipping thru the small slot without the washers.Secondly, the lamp unit weighs about three to four times what the legs weigh and I feel requires a stronger, locking attachment design. Again within a home with children or pets, anyone could knock it down and possibly cause injury. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU RAISE THIS LAMP TO ITS HIGHEST POINTAT THAT HEIGHT I FEEL THAT IT CAN TIP OVER VERY EASILY. I RECOMMEND RAISING IT A MAXIMUM OF TWO THIRDS THE WAY UP THE LEGS and tightening with lock washer on one side and flat washers on the other side of each leg. At that height the total lamp height should be around five feet tall.I took pictures with the lamp lit from beneath to show the detail which is beautiful.An 8 watt LED bulb is plenty to light up a room at least 12 X 12 as an accent light, it should be equivalent to a 40 watt incandescent bulb.

    Gives the room the contemporary feel and the rose gold finish really stands out with great quality metal. Its spreads the light very well in the room. Its very amusing how it bends to what shape you want it to be and when it came with box too. Highly recommended with a great price value.
